Site Visits

The best way to learn about Arcos Learning Abroad and our vision for study abroad and the high-quality programming that we provide our students is through visiting our locations and getting to know all of the important pieces of that program that makes us who we are as a program. To this end, we encourage and host site visits throughout the year. Site visits are managed by the Resident Directors and staff. You will get to meet with our onsite team, attend classes, meet with the academic coordinators, share a meal with a homestay and much more. We always ask for information about your goals and interest in advance so that we can prepare for your arrival and help you meet your objectives. We offer both Independent (or individual) and Group Site Visits. Site visits serve a variety of purposes from improved advising for students enrolled in our programs to development of more customized programs for faculty. Our site visits accommodate participants from a variety of campus positions.

Independent Site Visits

This is our most popular site visit format. We find that often site visits happen organically and may revolve around already planned travel or an opportunity that arises to work together and warrants a site visit. We are very adept at planning site visits of this type. The site visit schedule is tailored to your availability and goals.

1) If you or a someone from your university already plans to be abroad at one of our locations we can plan a mini-site visit around your schedule. This can range over one day to several days depending on what your time allows. We will ensure that you see and experience as much as our program as possible in the time that you have available.

2) If you or your university wants to evaluate a specific program location we can accommodate multiple individuals from the university and will plan with you an itinerary and the amount of days abroad to see all aspects of our programming. With your permission, sometimes this type of site visit can evolve into a Group Site Visit. We find that if there are participants from multiple institutions and with different roles it really helps with sharing ideas and making connections with others in the field of international education.

Virtual Site Visits

Available for our Heredia, Costa Rica program. Join us for a virtual site visit of our academic partner. This is a means to get to know the campus, teachers and teaching style without having to travel internationally.

Group Site Visits

Periodically, we plan Group Site Visits. Typical attendance is 5 to 10 individuals. Site visits provide the participants with an intimate perspective of the unique nature of our programs and the care that we provide to our students in-country. Arcos Learning Abroad subsidizes the visits by covering your lodging, most program meals, and in-country travel. Unless other arrangements are made, you are asked to cover the international airfare. Candidates for a Group Site visit can come from a variety of positions and departments. Participants most often include study abroad office directors or advisors and faculty members.
